Rewards

So I’ve never rewarded myself with anything when I reached a certain point, like 20 pound loss or size 10 jeans. I never felt the need to, never even thought about it. Today I was like know what, you did it, you reached your goal, you order dessert tonight girl! So I did 🙂 Well I split it with my friend because I looked at the calorie count on the dessert first and was like oh hell no don’t need that much of a reward! (it was just over 1000 calories) So I told my friend she had to split it with me lol Anyways it was beautiful the desert, it was this lava cookie thing from Red Lobster, so good. And the best part is that since I’m sort of off sugar I can’t eat very much of sweet things anymore so I probably only ate 1/3 of the cookie where as a year ago I would have finished that thing off when my friend decided she was done, pretty sure I even had a bit less than her.

I meant to take a picture of it but was too distracted by it’s yumminess to remember to do so, so I stole a random picture of it from the internet.

Also had crab legs and garlic shrimp and scallops for main course. mmm love.

Aaand then I went to the gym to work off my reward ahaha did weights and then stair master, which turns me into a super sweaty mess. yesh feels like I’m being rained on when I’m on that thing but it’s the best cardio machine there. Bike doesn’t burn much, ellipticals are stupid and we all know how I feel about the treadmill.

Oh and the spearmint green tea – also know as Moroccan Mint, so on Friday I had 2 cups of it but I seemed to have a bad reaction to the caffeine that day as I was a panicky mess after drinking a cup both times, don’t ask me why I had a second cup after the first did that. I don’t understand why I had such a bad reaction to the caffeine, yes that tea has more than my usual green tea but still less than a can of coke so I don’t get it. I had some today anyways to give it another shot. With the first cup I felt like my heart rate was up a bit but not like Friday and then I had 2 more cups later and was mostly fine so guess I’m getting use to it now? Still kind of freaky. Anyways results after today… this is like super charged green tea in terms of the bathroom…

Soreness is my life

Definitely feeling the last couple days… everywhere. And I like the next day stiffness, let’s me know I’m pushing myself. Over the fall I got into such a routine I ended up not getting very sore after awhile. But now I’m pretty much sore all the time because I’m doing so many different things and a lot more of it. Sunday I went for a 31km bike ride, it was lovely, little over 10km of that was on a lake front path we have in my town, so pretty and just tons of people out walking/biking/roller blading the path it was great to be one of them. But yeah that path is not close by so took nearly 10km just to get to it. Loved it though I’m going to do the entire path this weekend if I have the chance. Didn’t Sunday since wasn’t completely sure how many km’s were left on it and I didn’t want to increase my distance tooo much from the week before. In the evening I went for a walk with my dad.

Monday I did weights for about 50 minutes, I was going to do my long run since I didn’t get a chance to on the weekend but it was storming bad so gym it was. Then still wanted to get some cardio in so I ended up doing 20 minutes on the stair master. Enter all the soreness. I’m sure the bike ride didn’t help, my bum did feel weird when I was doing lunges, but Monday definitely did me in. I’ve been working a lot harder lately on really challenging my arms (paying off BIG time! They’re smaller and more defined already after just few weeks of slowly introducing more challenging movements) so they were feeling a bit sore the next day, and then yeah, the legs. But it was a manageable stiffness. Then came yoga, and the most slowed down version of flow we’ve done. It was GREAT but man muscles were working hard. And then I went for a quick 3k run that night. So last night, very sore, today, still sore. Sore enough when I first got up from sitting at my desk for an hour that a girl at worked noticed I was walking weird and asked if I was feeling okay lol. I was like ‘yup just stiff!’ ahaha

Anyways today another walk with my dad and then a swim. I am wiped! I was considering doing weights tomorrow but NOPE no need for that right now. I’m going to go to the mall after work, got a Victoria Secret coupon set the other day wooo free bag! and then I’ll go for a run later.

Also can we just talk about how much it sucks having to buy new bras in the middle of your weight loss? Like I’m pretty sure my last 5 pounds came straight from my boobs because up until now I’ve gotten by with my old bras, some more than others. But now, omg they’re all so horrible I had to buy new ones. and it’s just like man this sucks to buy something so expensive that I want to be to big for me soon. Like a month or so ago, last time I had the coupon set from VS actually, I bought these 2 bras that were a BIT too small. And now suddenly they’re getting too big. Hence why I said the last few pounds came directly from my boobs. I think I might asked to get measured tomorrow because I have no idea what size to try on since what I bought there is getting big. Bought the same size at La Senza on the weekend and they’re fine but I’ve always found them to be bit smaller than VS

I thought the pants issue was the worst but no this new bra issue is way worse. So much more expensive. With the amount of dresses and skirts I wear I can get by with my now 1 pair (but probably should buy a second, I had 2 but the other is too big now) of dress pants and 1 pair of jeans. But bras you gotta wear every day so there’s not a whole lot of bra washing going on at the moment…

Month 2: Day 10

Finally Friday! I’ve come to very much enjoy Fridays, I don’t really like not doing anything in the evenings but since I workout Monday to Thursday, Saturday I’m busy and Sunday there’s always getting stuff ready for the week. Fridays nights have just become really nice where I just get to catch up on TV and don’t have to worry about doing anything, even basic things like getting food ready and showering, none of that. It’s beautiful to have this one day. I don’t tend to make plans for Fridays because whenever I just always feel super tired and wishing for bed so I just leave the fun times for Saturday and just take Friday to relax.

Breakfast was overnight oatmeal I didn’t have time to finish completely, I was shoving it down as fast as I could by the end but there was still a bit left when I was racing out the door.

2 cups of green tea

Lunch was late since I had to do some stuff out of office that took longer than I though so I got back at 2 and just ate half my salad of romaine and spinach with chicken and then all my peppers with humus. I was kind of stressing about how it was already so late in the day now and even though we get an hour for lunch I was thinking about how I had to get everything sorted from all the stuff I got when I left the office and blah blah blah, couldn’t finish my salad.

Dinner was a hot dog and fries.

Rest day so no workout, although I did carry some heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs and I consider that an achievement as I did consider taking the elevator.

I don’t think I’ve ever mention this, I always take the stairs at work, always have, we’re on the 3rd floor of an office building so each flight is about 1.5 sets of stairs. I always took the stairs in school too unless it was to the 4th floor or more because it’s just a bit too much and takes too long to catch your breath and that becomes embarrassing, I did do it once or twice though.

Honesty I just don’t understand elevators when you’re only going up a couple floors, unless you have something that makes stairs difficult – something legitimate not just that they suck, take the stairs lazy. Especially going down! I super don’t understand not taking them down, going down takes nothing out of you, again as long as you don’t have some physical limitation, I know it can bother people with knee issues, but beyond that? Stairs are much faster and easier.
